Our family style restaurant and buffet needs a Manager to oversee the operations of our kitchen, wholesale and catering. We have a great team in place and are looking for someone who can help lead them to the next level of excellence. The successful candidate will have restaurant and management experience. We’re looking for a creative, motivated professional who doesn’t mind contributing to prep and line work when necessary, but who won’t be afraid to delegate. Attention to detail as well as proven relationship building skills are also important. You will report to the General Manager and oversee a team of 30-40 people. The job requires approximately 45 hours per week with some nights and weekends each month (we are closed on Sundays).

Responsibilities

  • Order supplies, food and ingredients based on rapidly shifting demand, keeping food costs within desired levels
  • Hire and train kitchen staff
  • Create schedules for kitchen staff to meet demand and keep labor costs within budget
  • Schedule and oversee necessary maintenance and repairs on kitchen appliances
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen to state and company standards
  • Assist the General Manager with menu changes and adjustments based on seasonal availability
  • Meet regularly with and participate in leadership team meetings
  • Respond personally to guest questions and complaints

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ food service experience
  • 2+ years’ restaurant management experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of conducting and assessing restaurant inventory
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Experience with delegating tasks and maintaining fast speed of service
  • Team building
